Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) users may experience a stall when generating a random survey point in i-Tree Canopy followed by a message indicating that itreetools.org is not responding. This is due to issues with IE9's ability to properly handle the Canopy survey point generation algorithm. This behavior can vary depending on the number of survey points and the shapefile or boundary complexity but it can be time consuming. Therefore, we recommend i-Tree Canopy users work with Google Chrome or Firefox internet browsers if possible.
Institutional Canopy users who do not have the ability to install system-wide software should be able to download and use Firefox Portable. Firefox Portable is a version of Firefox that can be installed and run from any location. Firefox Portable can be obtained from the website: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable
In addition, save your project early and often while conducting a survey.
