I would like to know in the mathematical formula or equation used to know how much carbon absorbs a tree?, Using the tools of the itree eco program

I have worked with a local group opposing wind farms to calculate the negative impact on watersheds and CO2 absorption capacity of forest lost to transmission line R.O.W. clear cuts.
It's a negative impact for sure; and the current Maine wind siting act deliberately omits environmental impact statements for either turbine pads or transmission lines which would precisely define the type and biomass of trees lost. All I have to work with are aerial maps and 'educated' guesses as to the type and age of trees cut down. Making matters even worse, are annual herbicide spraying to keep growth and in turn photosynthesis minimized.
Any one else seeking to use iTREE modules to determine the carbon capture losses of clear-cuts?

The i-Tree tools will estimate carbon if you have individual tree measurements. Without individual tree measurements you could use the per acre carbon multipliers already available in i-Tree Canopy or the census block total provide in i-Tree Landscape. However, those multipliers are for average forest conditions which is pretty much all you can interpret from aerial imagery. Alternatively, you may be interested in something like US Forest Service's Carbon On Line Estimator (COLE, https://www.fs.usda.gov/ccrc/tools/cole). That tool uses a combination of aerial and local ground measured data and would allow you to create a more locally accurate estimate of the carbon stored per acre of forest.
