GREEN ROOFS

Post by elicostas » Sun May 06, 2012 7:23 am

Hi, I was looking for this question at the forum and haven't found it, so I expect it not to be repeated.

I am interested to know if it is possible to introduce a green roof (as for example grass on a three storey building), to evaluate how can it perform in the reduction of pollutants, and when do I have to introduce the height of the building it is put on.

Thank you a lot.

You can enter woody vegetation (trees & shrubs) in i-Tree Eco for something like a green roof but the model is not designed for or capable of differentiating any differences in tree/pollution deposition interaction due to fact that a tree is X stories on top of a building as opposed to planted at ground level.
