Errors in i-Tree Streets and "Streets Species Codes.xls"?

Post by wgrunberg » Tue May 06, 2014 3:49 pm

The "Streets Species Codes.xls" spreadsheet appears to have two errors:

On the "Northern Cal Coast" sheet:
RHIN2, Rhaphiolepis, Indian hawthorn
should be
RHIN2, Rhaphiolepis indica, Indian hawthorn

On the "Central_Florida" sheet:
RHIN62, Rhaphiolepis indica, Indian hawthorn
should be
RHIN2, Rhaphiolepis indica, Indian hawthorn

The errors can also be found in i-Tree Streets 5.1.2 (included with i-Tree 6).
RHIN2 in the Northern Cal Coast climate zone only lists the genus but not the species.
The species code for Rhaphiolepis indica is listed RHIN62 instead of RHIN2 in the Central Florida climate zone.

Thanks for pointing these discrepancies out. We will look into updating the list to include the genus and species for Rhaphiolepis indica. However, the codes for the same species that exist in (2) different climate zones do not always match. Changing the Florida code to unify it with the Northern Cal coast code may cause problems for people with Florida projects using the current codes.
