A confusion question, Althouth I knew that STREETS species code classified by Climate zone(16), Unfortunately, I'd never found the total number about how many those species if ignoring climate zone. because I need to know the total number of Streets species in order to writing thesis aoout STREETS.
and is this species be created based on urban tree's growth model?could you explan this basics? mega thanx.
China
A question about Street species, help, thanx.

Streets Species
Hello,
You can find more detailed information about i-Tree Streets by going to http://www.itreetools.org and selecting Resources>>Archives. Under the "i-Tree Streets and STRATUM Resources" tab you can find this Excel workbook with all the species codes (http://www.itreetools.org/streets/resou ... 0Codes.xls) as well as the map of the climate zones (http://www.itreetools.org/streets/image ... _zones.jpg). You also may be interested in this document which describes selecting climate zones for projects outside of the U.S. (http://www.itreetools.org/streets/resou ... %20AUF.pdf)
To your other question, there are no estimates of tree growth within i-Tree Streets. The model is only providing estimates of tree related benefits at the time of inventory. For additional information about the science behind the i-Tree Streets estimates you should consult the relevant Tree Guides along with additional documentation provided in the Archives.
The USFS Community Tree Guides can be accessed from the Resources - Archives page http://www.itreetools.org/resources/archives.php under the i-Tree Streets Reference City Tree Guides tab
Thanks for your questions and your interest in i-Tree.

Re: Streets Species
Thank you Jason:
The species code I've download before, and I can check every climate zone which species code include, but the species XLS file don't include or describe the total number of species, only have every zone's species, I dont know how can I caculating the tatal number about entire species except every zone.
What is the theoretical basis of STREETS species database? in other words, what determined those species essential parameter in STREETS? It is very important for me,I'm sorry to trouble you. THANX AGAIN.

Street Species and variables
To create a list of all distinct species across climate zones you can combine each worksheet into a single worksheet by copying and pasting records at the bottom of your current species list. Then use a pivot table to summarize by species in Excel.
I am not sure I understand your second question. All of the information about how species were selected and measured is provided in the the "Tree Guides" I linked to above. The different tree guides correspond to different climate zones. You can also review this document for a broad overview of how i-Tree Streets works (http://www.itreetools.org/streets/resou ... ov2011.pdf).
