dbh calculations

Post by ccrhodes » Wed Feb 15, 2012 11:18 am

Is this calculation the same one used to combine the multiple stems to one value in i-Eco?
Thanks

Eco DBH multi stem

Post by azelaya » Thu Feb 16, 2012 12:21 am

Yes. Eco aggregates the basal area of up to 6 stems entered to determine an equivalent DBH for determining estimates. This is done in the code but you can test it by manually entering a tree with multiple stems and then using the formula discussed to enter one tree with an equivalent dbh with the same canopy metrics and it should produce similar estimates for both trees.

Please note that i-Tree Streets is legacy software and we recommend that all users migrate to i-Tree Eco. Bamboo species are available by default within i-Tree Eco and no species additions are necessary.
