Landcover data from additional years

Will Landscape eventually include data from NLCD 2016 and 2019?

Unfortunately, there are not plans to incorporate the 2016 and 2019 interim releases for the NLCD; Landscape is currently displaying national land cover across 10-year spans. The 2021 release is expected to include the updated data for canopy change, and would likely be the next release considered for posting. But it’s always helpful to hear from users who would find those layers useful -

The NLCD has begun to issue "interim" releases that update (as opposed to newly survey) previous versions in order to better assess land cover changes over time. In Landscape, this is intended to offer a snapshot, so it's anticipated that the next integration of the nationwide data will be the 2021 version. Having said that, Landscape continues to include high resolution land use layers where and as they are made available to us (I believe Chatham County is the only area we have for Georgia so far).

Best, Erika
