Inclusion of shrubs with trees
I am new to i-Trees. Want to survey the tree canopy in my municipality. Why does the canopy tool include shrubs with trees in a single category?

i-Tree Canopy uses Google aerial imagery and the resolution is usually not great enough for the average person to distinguish a shrub versus a tree, thus they are grouped together. Depending on the size of the project and your familiarity with the area, you may be able to make a separate category for shrubs if you are confident you can tell them apart. For a whole municipality, this might not be feasible or time efficient approach though.
