Strata question

Post by Lbauer12 » Tue Sep 17, 2019 7:46 am

I’m doing an inventory for four separate properties owned by the same company, each with several hundred to a thousand trees. Should I make them all separate projects, or make it one project with several strata? Is there any major advantage either way?

This depends on the goals of your project. If you keep them as separate strata in a single project you will have all of your data and results collected in one place. You will also notice that many of the reports have breakdowns by strata which would allow you to compare the different properties. However, if these comparisons are not important and you are going to end up creating a separate report for each property then there may not be any benefit to keeping them all together. One other point, if you have a stratified project you can always create multiple copies of that project and delete out any strata you are not interested for a given report. However, if you have separate projects you can not combine them to create a single project.
Hope that helps you make the decision.
