What is i-Tree Eco?

Post by i-Tree Support » Thu Jan 04, 2007 1:54 pm

i-Tree Eco evolved from the original UFORE (Urban Forest Effects) model, which is a science-based, peer-reviewed computer model designed to calculate urban forest ecosystem services and values, making use of field data inputs and available data sets from external sources (e.g., weather and pollution data sets). The model can calculate urban forest structure and several ecosystem services and values for any area of any size.

i-Tree Eco application provides (2) main components:

1) Eco desktop – an interface that allows the user to configure a project and communicate with data collection devices, manually enter data directly or import complete inventory data into the shell application. The desktop program also performs data integrity checks allowing data to be submitted for processing and generates reports, tables & charts.

2) Eco PDA Utility -- a field data collection program for use on a hand held device such as PDA running Windows Mobile 5.0-6.5 operating system.
