How do I use the Mobile data system or PDA to collect data?

First, the PDA utility is now limited to i-Tree Streets and Eco version 5. Eco version 6 doesn't support the older PDA option and only the Mobile Data Collection (MDC) system is offered.

You will first need to create and configure an i-Tree project using the Streets or Eco desktop application for data collection as described in the User’s Manuals https://www.itreetools.org/resources/manuals.php before you can use either data collection system. After creating and configuring a project, you can then access the Work with Mobile or Work with PDA utility option under the Tools menu in i-Tree Street to install the PDA utility on a compatible device. The MDC system will create a hyperlink in an email which is used to collect data in webforms on a web-enabled device. In Eco v6, the MDC option can be accessed under the DATA tab after a project is configured.

The i-Tree PDA utility and MDC systems are not generic data collection programs that can be used for multiple projects. They are designed to work with one unique configured Streets or Eco project at a time.

See information about the data collection options at http://www.itreetools.org/mobile/index.php

See the Streets Training Video Series for more on the MDC at the following page https://www.itreetools.org/resources/videos.php
