STRATUM in Cortland NY

Post by Cortland Tree Boy » Sun Jun 03, 2007 11:59 am

Good Day,

Two years ago, students in a class of mine at State University of New York College at Cortland completed a near exhaustive survey of public trees in Cortland New York. Public trees are defined here as street trees within the ROW of city roads, park mtrees, and those trees planted on public grounds.

We collected information on approximately 3100 trees. A preliminary analysis using STRATUM has been completed, but we are waiting for the city manager to provide cost data for the public trees.

Cortland is a small city of aproximately 20,000 residents and 51 miles of streets. We are located in Upstate New York about 30 miles south of Syracuse. I would be interested in sharing and/or comparing our analysis to similar cities.

Please post a response here or feel free to contact me at broyles@cortland.edu.
