Re: Cannot enter data into Land Use field in i-tree v6

Hi Christian, There could be a few things going on here. Here are the first tw0 things I would look at. 1. Make sure that the "land use" field is selected under your "Data Collection Options". You can check those options by going to the "Project Configuration" tab, sele...

Re: Gathering tree population

Hi Jared, Unfortunately there is no way to account for species directly with i-Tree Canopy. When you select a county during project set-up the underlying models do use local mixes of percent deciduous and evergreen in the estimates of air pollution, (see methods here, https://www.itreetools.org/docu...

Re: What should I do when receiving a Crystal Reports download error during installation?

UPDATE: Those links have been restored. Occasionally, firewalls or internet browser settings may prevent their download and installation. In those cases you may want to try copying and pasting the URL directly into your web browser. Unfortunately, we generally cannot resolve issues caused by outside...

Re: urban forestry harvesting numbers & metrics

These calculations aren't included in the i-Tree tools but there is some life-cycle analysis out there that might be relevant. You could start with this paper, https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=13&ved=2ahUKEwjYxobM5tjnAhX6hHIEHe33DywQFjAMegQIBBAB&a...

Re: What should I do when receiving a Crystal Reports download error during installation?

We are looking into having those links fixed or the files reposted. Anson, I am not sure I have ever seen that "pending" issue you mentioned. If you are on a government, university, or other controlled network it may be some firewall setting preventing the installation. If that is the case...

Re: how can i change the name of my project?

Hi Valeria, Sorry you are having trouble with the project name. If you are unable to edit your project name when you click on the "Project Definition" button under the "Project Configuration" tab you may need to turn the "Editing mode" to "On". The editing mod...

Re: data import wizard ,unhandled exception error ?

Sorry to hear you are having issues with import. This may be tough to diagnose without seeing your data. One issue that we occasionally see with import is that the wizard doesn't function well if the file being imported is open in other software. Please make sure that your spreadsheet is not open in...

Re: how long to process eco v6 project ?

i-Tree Eco projects are usually processed within an hour. Very large projects (greater than 10,000 trees with a number strata) can take longer. The other variable that can make projects take longer is if there are additional projects in the queue ahead of yours. Once you submit your project your you...

Re: General formulas

Unfortunately we don't have general equations for average benefits by species. To see more about how the underlying models in i-Tree Eco work please see these documents, http://www.itreetools.org/eco/resources/iTree_Eco_Dry_Deposition_Model_Descriptions.pdf and http://www.itreetools.org/eco/resource...

Re: Batch Runs

Hi Will, Unfortunately, there isn't a built in mechanism to facilitate the type of batch runs you are describing. As an alternative you could set up each of your projects as a separate stratum and combine them all in one project. Then you could use the individual tree or strata level results in your...

Re: Resolve Conflict Warning

Hi Amy, Those warnings have to do with how i-Tree Eco manages retrieving data from mobile devices. Typically, you get those messages if some change has been made to the data on more than once before retrieval. For example you may have had multiple people submit data from mobile for the same plot or ...

Re: Allometric equations

Hello Giacomo, Copice is not a common practice here in the US so i-Tree doesn't have a defined way to handle those trees. However, for multi-stem trees you can enter up to the 6 largest stems as DBH1 to DBH6. Alternatively, you could calculate the dbh of a tree that would have the same basal area as...

Re: Certification of data obtained

Hello, I am not sure that I completely understand your question. There is no certification process for data collectors as the tools are free to use and anyone can use them to collect their own data. The results obtained from the i-Tree tools represent the outcomes of scientific models. Users can rev...

Re: Allometric equations

Hello Giacomo, This may depend on which of the i-Tree Tools you are using. If you are using i-Tree Eco please see the section of this paper, http://www.itreetools.org/eco/resources/UFORE%20Methods.pdf , titled "UFORE-C: Carbon Storage and Annual Sequestration". i-Tree is not using species ...
