Re: B&B vs. bare root & other planting stock

The i-Tree models do not include research around planting stock so planting stock type is not directly accounted for in i-Tree Planting. In my experience outside of i-Tree, the biggest difference between the different types of planting stocks is in the mortality rates. It may be helpful if you can c...

Re: Condition of plantings default

Hi Melanie, Despite its name i-Tree Planting can be used to evaluate existing trees as well. Since you can input tree diameters it is straightforward to incorporate trees already on the landscape which may have a variety of conditions. Additionally, including condition allows user to evaluate differ...

Re: Change Analysis: Shift Error in Map Projection

Unfortunately, we don't control the projection or alignment of the images within i-Tree Canopy. i-Tree Canopy is displaying the latest images that Google provides through their API. You will notice that lack of alignment even within Google Earth pro images will have different levels alignment over t...

Re: Understanding the MyTree Values & Formulas

Hi Jack, Thanks for your interest in i-Tree. All of the i-Tree methods are described in our Understanding i-Tree document. The methods for MyTree, and all of the online tools, represent a simplification of the methods used in i-Tree Eco. Each of the ecosystem services is derived from a different set...

Re: plot based inventory vs. complete inventory

Hi Hannses, I would need to see a copy of both projects to figure out how the different approaches led to different results. There are too many potential differences between the project types to speculate on what might be the actual cause of any differences. If you want us to take a look please send...

Re: Unhandled Exception Error help please

There was a bug in i-Tree Eco version 6.0.30. If you update to version 6.0.31 this issues should be resolved.
Thanks,
Jason

Re: Unhandled Exception Error help please

Hi Nick, Can you let me know what operating system you are working in? I have seen similar issues in the past with users working in Windows on a Mac. The software will run in Windows on a Mac but you have to be sure that you are saving your projects in the Windows space rather than the Mac space whi...

i-Tree Eco can and has been used in a number of tropical locations including The Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Vietnam, Taiwan, and many others. In recent years we have incorporated a number of tropical biomass equations in i-Tree Eco that users working in tropical l...

Re: Eco MDC cleared inventoried trees

Hi, Unfortunately, if you did not submit the trees from your mobile device there is no way to recover them because they were never on our server. Before you submit trees from your mobile device they are held in your browser cache which may be cleared periodically by your mobile operating system. We ...

Re: Plots amount

Hi Helly, The size of the area being sampled isn't as important as the variability among plots. If you are measuring a highly variable population like an entire city's forest we typically recommend 200 or more plots. For natural forests that are pretty homogeneous you may only need 30 or so plots. W...

Hi Hannes, You should be able to post stratify without issue. If you are using the mobile data collection system please make sure that all outstanding data is retrieved into your project before beginning the stratification process. You will then need to update your mobile data collection links and r...

Re: Forecasting : interaction of mortality rates

I had our developer take a peak under the hoods to verify how multiple mortality rates are applied. Essentially they are additive as you suggested. All the mortality rates are applied to the number of trees that start a given time period. Total killed trees = (killedByPests + killedByMort + killedBy...

Re: Kentucky Coffeetree species code returning error

You may be looking at an outdated version of the i-Tree Eco species code list. You can always find the latest version by clicking on "Species list" under the "View" tab in i-Tree Eco. The current code for Kentucky coffeetree is GYDI1.
Hope that helps.
Thanks,
