Re: 02 production and UV effect
Hi Horacio, The O2 production should be fine for you to use. That information is generated as a corollary to CO2 sequestration. The UV information relies on data from the weather station you select. If you are using a non-local weather station then it is likely those results will not be appropriate ...

Re: i Tree Eco v6 - Free Adjustment of Costs and Benefit Dat
To you first question. Within a single project the benefit and costs you enter will apply to the whole project. If you want to use different benefits or costs for different trees you will need to set up different projects. To your second question. There are more options for the pollutants if you are...

Re: carbon capture
The i-Tree tools will estimate carbon if you have individual tree measurements. Without individual tree measurements you could use the per acre carbon multipliers already available in i-Tree Canopy or the census block total provide in i-Tree Landscape. However, those multipliers are for average fore...

Re: Strange forecast Results
Hi Horacio,
We would need to see the exact Forecast set-up and project characteristics to offer any explanation. If you'd like us to take a look send along the packed project to info@itreetools.org.
Thanks,
Jason

You can find most of the peer reviewed publications that describe the underlying i-Tree Eco models in our Archives, http://www.itreetools.org/resources/archives.php . The papers specific to the carbon methods are: general Eco methods paper with references http://www.itreetools.org/eco/resources/08%2...

Re: Reports By Species and By Strata
Hi Horacio, If you are referring the the reports under the "Measured tree details" tab those only provide information about the trees that are sampled if you have done a plot based sample. Neither the "Measured tree details>Composition and Structure>by species" nor the "Measured tree details>Composi...

Re: RPI
Hi Horacio, If your project was a stratified plot-based sample then it is likely the the issue is that Eco is calculating the area weighted average of RPI across strata to come up with that population average. If that doesn't seem to be the issue you can email your packed project and the Excel file ...

How to represent trace amounts of precipitation
Some weather stations and weather data sets indicate trace amounts of precipitation with a text identifier like "TR" or "0.00T". These trace amounts are small enough that they don't significantly impact model outputs and can be safely ignored. If your data has these types of text identifiers to indi...

Re: how to connect historical google earth to itree canopy
Hello, You can definitely connect i-Tree Canopy data to the historical data in Google Earth. This is facilitated within the software application by using the "Historical Change Detection" method. For more information please check out these videos, -Canopy Change Analysis Intro part 1 ( http://www.it...

UPDATE: As of 2/21/17 i-Tree Eco is using the following Carbon valuation Currently i-Tree Eco uses a value of $146.66 per metric tonne. This value comes from this more recently updated Social Cost of Carbon Document, https://www.itreetools.org/documents/65/social_cost_of_carbon_for_ria_2013_update.p...

Re: Compensatory Value
The Austin numbers are high mostly duethe very high number of trees in that city. The high number of trees results from the large foot print of the city (the largest on that list) and the fact that the city's boundary includes about 30% closed canopy natural forest by area. This leads to a much high...

Hi Horacio,
Can you post links to a few of those reports, including Austin? I'd be curious to look at their methods a little before making a guess about the differences.

Re: Can I incorporate the Spanish common name in the data?
Glad to hear the Playa del Carmen project is working without issue. Your assumption is correct. There is no way to bulk import common names back into i-Tree Eco. Unfortunately, the only solution at this time is to export the reports you are interested in and reformat them. I will let our development...
