Changing common names in reports
Yes, I did test this myself using data within STRATUM v3.3. I will have to check with the programmers to see if there may be something in the coding that is causing this issue. It does seem strange that it is not making a difference on your reports. I'll get back to you tomorrow.

Changing common names in reports
Jerry, The change should be made universally throughout the report for that species. However, if you exit out of the STRATUM project without saving the project and then re-enter, the species name would be as it appeared originally. I tried testing this several times and the species changes I made we...

Changing common names in reports
Jerry, You can change the "default" common names shown in the reports by using the “Define Species” option which can be found under the “Input” tab in STRATUM. Once your project is active in STRATUM, the “Input” tab will be active. You can then select the “Define Species” option. Highlight...

spieces code error
For those who have followed this string and offered advice, the problem turned out to be a step that was needed during configuration of the tree species list in the STRATUM/MCTI PDA application. A step was missed to "Create File for PDA's" which sends the revised list to the PDA. The probl...

RE:define species error
Just to add a thought to the discussion; the tree species that you have in your inventory which aren't on the list of available species can be added and assigned a species value to a similar/allied tree. Also, depending on the region you used, CONU2 and CEOC3 may have value assignments available in ...

Species value assignment clarification
Hello, I think that you understand how it works but see if this helps clarify the picture. As mentioned in a previous reply to RT, each STRATUM region has approximately 200 trees that are most likely to be found in that region. However, those 200 trees do not all have individual benefits and growth ...

No "STRATUM_MCTI_Inventory" table created with PDA
Hello Rich, It appears that your data may currently exist in the i-Tree.mdb database and not the i-Tree Grand Database because an uploading step may still need to be executed to transfer that information to the proper location. When launching the STRATUM/MCTI Tree Inventory PDA UTILITY application f...

No "STRATUM_MCTI_Inventory" table created with PDA
Hello Rich,
Please make sure that when starting a new project that you are selecting the "i-Tree Grand Database.mdb" and not the "itree.mdb" as this may solve your problem.
Let us know if this works.

Tree Calculator
Hello Alanna, I am not aware of any plans to expand the TreeCalculator application to compensate for cumulative benefits provided from trees that are in close proximity to each other. The TreeCalculator was adapted from the STRATUM model to provide general benefit data for individual trees. However,...

Trees on forest margin counted in STRATUM?
Hello Jeannette, This is good question to ponder. Can a tree be considered both a forest tree and a street tree? I would say that it depends. I would suggest considering a few things in regards to capturing data on trees that are on the edge of a forest margin but may also act functionally as “Stree...
