Re: Eco v6 crashed or stopped working
There is an issue with a recent automatic Microsoft update that is causing this problem. Essentially, there is an entry in the computer's registry for the 32-bit version of the MS Database Engine however the update removes or disallows the 32-bit version. This issue will be resolved in the next rele...

Re: Social cost of carbon
UPDATE: 7-30-20 The current cost of carbon used in i-Tree Canopy and i-Tree Eco is $170.55/ton of C and this has been updated with the 2019 PPI which was down 1.1% from 2018. We consider this to be in 2020 dollars as it is using the latest available PPI. User's can check on the latest default carbon...

Re: Significance of Crown Measurements
Hi Charlotte, This can be difficult to answer and varies depending on your tree population. If your trees are similar to the ones used to create the models that estimate crown parameters based on dbh then there will be little impact on average. However, for any single tree the differences may be lar...

Re: Trouble Uploading Data for Report
Hi Charlotte,
Yes, please email your spreadsheet and your packed project to info@itreetools.org. You can create a packed project from the "file" menu in i-Tree Eco then send along the .zip folder that is created.
Thanks,
Jason

Re: Trouble Uploading Data for Report
Hi Charlotte, The limitations on the "crown: base height" are that it must be greater than 0 and less than the "crown: top height". Additionally, if you have selected to collect "crown size" parameters you must supply valid values for "top height", "base ...

Re: Trouble with Crown: % Missing
Hi Charlotte, Thanks for your question. The field guide covers the acceptable values for each variable https://www.itreetools.org/documents/274/EcoV6.FieldManual.2020.06.10.pdf . In this case it can be 0 or 100 or the midpoints of 5% classes rounded up. So the acceptable values are 0, 3, 8, 13, 18,....

Re: Update issues
Thanks for the question. I haven't seen that exact error message before but it looks like some temporary files needed for the updated got corrupted or sent to a different folder. As a solution I would suggest uninstalling your current version of Eco and downloading the latest installer. You can get ...

Thanks for the questions. Please see my answers below. Thanks, Jason 1- is the classification based on the spectral signature of the features(similar to remote sensing approaches)? There is no automated classification. The classification is wholly based on the users interpretation of what is shown i...

Re: Adding current pollution and precipitation data
Hi Lulia, Thank you for your question. This is actually very timely. As of earlier this week we are now able to accept precipitation and pollution data through 2018. When you download the templates from i-Tree Database you should see that the precipitation and pollution templates both make this poss...

Re: mobile application not showing tree data collected
Thanks for your question. This was a bug in the software that has since been fixed. In order to ensure that you are running the fixed version of mobile collection form you will have to clear the cache on the browser you are using before reopening the data collection link. Before you do that you will...

Re: How to export to CSV with scientific name first in Species column?
Hi Mary, Unfortunately I don't think they will be making that change. Our most limiting resource is developer time. Even small changes like this tend to have a cascading effect that requires editing every report table that includes species names. Our management team is very cautious about limiting o...

Re: How to export to CSV with scientific name first in Species column?
Hi Mary, Unfortunately the order of those things cannot be changed in the Export. It was easier for our programmers to hard code how the columns are displayed in the export then to make them change dynamically based on user preferences. If you are using Microsoft Excel you could use the "Text t...

Yes it is possible to do a change analysis using the historical data available in Google Earth. This requires using Google Earth and i-Tree Canopy simultaneously. Please see these videos from our video learning page which cover the process: Canopy Change Analysis Intro part 1 - 4 min. - This video d...

There is no upload. You can enter your own multipliers directly in the Air Pollution, Hydrological, and Carbon tables you mentioned from the set-up step 3. You will need to click on the row you want to edit then click on the small "Editing" button to the lower left of each of those tables ...

Re: Info on KML export ?
Hi Mary, Glad you found a path forward. The ability to import spreadsheets into Google Maps has lots of great applications. There is a limit to how many points you can import. I think you can import 2,000 trees at a time in what they call layers. You can have a maximum of 10 of those layers and a to...
