Re: Import data from Excel to Eco v6.0 in a plot-based sample project?

Yes it is possible to export data from a plot-based sample project to a spreadsheet. In i-Tree Eco you would click on the data tab, then select the "Plots" button. With the "Plots" table open you can then click on the "CSV" button to save a spreadsheet that can be opened in MS Excel. You would then ...

Re: How does i-Tree Eco simulate leaf area fluctuation in leaf-in/ leaf-off season ?

Thanks for your question. The leaf on/off parameter is a location specific parameter. For any location a user can select in i-Tree Eco the underlying database has average leaf-on and leaf-off days. In the US these dates were estimated based on frost free days while in other countries they may be pro...

Re: I'm using I Tree Eco and when I try to submit my data for processing I get the message "FTP Upload Failed."

Hello, Sorry to hear about this issue. This can be a little hard to diagnose but my first two thoughts would be: 1. Occasionally, we will have server outages. In those cases mean i-Tree Eco on your computer can't communicate with outrFTP server. I haven't seen any recent records of outages and was j...

Re: Import data from Excel to Eco v6.0 in a plot-based sample project?

Hello, Unfortunately, import of plot data is still not possible. Unfortunately, that feature is challenging to build because it requires the import of two linked tables (plots and trees) with significant error checking to ensure that data is compatible with i-Tree Eco. At the same time relatively fe...

Re: MyTree: calculation for total benefits this year

Hi Susanne, The benefits are meant to be representative of this calendar year (currently 2019). They aren't really per year because next year the tree will be larger and presumable providing more benefits. They also aren't to-date, but represent an estimate of the benefits as the tree grows new leav...

Re: Accuracy of i-Tree Eco

Hello, A good place to start is with this document which describes the default values and calculated values used when only partial data is supplied, http://www.itreetools.org/resources/manuals/Ecov6_ManualsGuides/Ecov6Guide_DataLimitations.pdf . Understanding the larger methodology of i-Tree Eco is ...

Re: How do I add new species in Eco for a UK project

Additionally, if you are only adding a few species you can submit them through i-Tree Database, https://www.itreetools.org/database/ . Use the "Add to Database" drop down at the top of that webpage. Accepted species will be permanently added to i-Tree Eco the next time a software update is released....

Source of data and monetary valuations for i-Tree Eco European adaptation

In November of 2018 i-Tree Eco was adapted for use in a number of European Union countries. This adaptation required the use of a number of local data sources to support the i-Tree models and create localized monetary valuations. Below is a list of the data sources used. Primary/Secondary Partitions...

UPDATED METHODS!!! Re: biomass adjustment factor

The i-Tree Eco biomass adjustment factor methods have been updated. The biomass adjustment factor (BAF) is a 0.8 multiplier that gets applied to tree biomass and subsequent carbon storage estimates. The BAF is meant to account for the fact that i-Tree biomass equations are largely from natural fores...

Re: Eco v6.0.14 Report Issue

This was a bug in our server side processing. It was introduced as we make preparations to allow users to customize diameter classes. Diameter distributions by strata were not impacted and should be correct in all projects. If you have a project that was submitted for processing between 11/22/18 and...

Re: Eco v6.0.14 Report Issue

This one is a little hard to diagnose without seeing the actual data. Would you mind sending your packed project to our support email address, info@itreetools.org? You can create a packed project from the "File" menu in Eco. Also, if you could send along screenshots of the two different reports that...

Re: Sporadic connectivity errors

Our developers also reminded me that they have made some changes to the software to minimize the chances that it gets stopped by antivirus or firewall software. To that end, you should make sure that you are using the latest version of i-Tree Eco by clicking on "software update" under the support me...

Re: Sporadic connectivity errors

Hello, Connectivity issues are very difficult for us to diagnose unless our server is down. There have not been any sporadic server outages in the last few weeks. Typically, these errors are caused by firewall or anti-virus software preventing i-Tree Eco from contacting our servers. These errors can...

Re: Largest I-Tree Eco Plot Survey?

Hi Sam, That sounds like a pretty significant undertaking. We don't capture all of the projects that people are using i-Tree Eco for but the biggest one that I am aware of is the Chicago Regional survey, https://www.itreetools.org/resources/reports/Chicago_Region_rb_nrs84.pdf . They reported using 2...

Re: i-Tree 2018 prevents installation of Microsoft Office 2016 32-bit

i-Tree should work with the 32-bit version of the database engine. There have been some issues with the default database engine that is installed with enterprise versions of windows. Once you have installed your 32-bit software try opening i-Tree Eco and creating a test project. If the software cras...
