Dead Trees
I have some questions about dead trees. The manual states that if you are unable to identify a dead tree to genus, then the default would be to call it a hardwood or softwood. We currently send our data to Syracuse in excel files, which consist of the database itself, a 'group' file, and a 'native' ...

I apologize for taking a while to respond. We are collecting our data with the paper version of UFORE. We have been getting some of our species codes from the USDA.Plants.org website b/c we thought this was consistant with yours. Again, anything we pulled from that website were for species not liste...

Species not listed in the 'plants.usda.gov' website
What if there is a species in the field that is not listed in the 'plants.usda.gov' website with a code. What code do we use?

You guys rock! Somehow I am not surprised it ultimately was something so obvious as that. Though there were other issues so we at least were able to tackle all of those before we were ultimately stumped. Thank you for all of your (you and the i-Tree team) help! Sighhhh.... now our team can proceed a...

I apologize to be the bearer of bad news but it still did not work. I took all the commas out and set it up exactly as is displayed on the link you provided above with your first response. I have 1-3 digit plot numbers so I tried to just leave them as is and submit the .txt that way which was reject...

Thank you for all of your help. I will set my files up again as suggested. I think the error came in when I changed the .xls (was a .dbf) to a .csv. The .csv automatically put commas in between the columns excel had. It may be important next time to let others know to delete those commas when they a...

I did not use the tab key at all when I entered in what you all suggested and I did try to get it to work over and over again but it kept giving me the error message. I will try again tomorrow. The only other thing I can think is if you like, I can send you those 3 files and you can literally see if...

How do you load prerandomized plot info into UFORE?
In the instructions manual for “Creating a New UFORE Project” on page 7 there is the part where you need to specify the plots via the “Generate Plot” button or it seems the program will not let you proceed. I chose to “Load from Plot Generator” because our plots were already generated using ArcMap 9...
