Re: different numbers for the same tree and in the same location

Hi Basa, Thanks for the question. Do you happen to have any of those projects saved (the .dsgnprj type files created by cliking on the "Save Progress" or "Save Results" buttons) or the report .pdfs showing the changing results? If you do have any of those files please send them along our support ema...

Re: Land use Report

Hi Juanmi,
Could you send us your packed i-Tree Eco project at our support email address, info@itreetools.org? You can create a packed project from the "File" menu within Eco.
Once we have that project we can dig in and see what is going on.
Thanks,
Jason

Re: How does i-Tree Canopy estimate monetary values in the UK?

Hi Alessio, The i-Tree Canopy adaptations for the UK and Sweden estimate the ecosystem service rates using i-Tree Eco batch runs. The i-Tree Eco runs are performed in the same way they are in the States, using local pollution and weather data. You can find a preliminary description of the metadata u...

Re: Forecast module mortality rate

It is not a well documented number. It is more of a rough average of what is generally commonly reported in the arboriculture literature. There aren’t a lot of good mortality numbers anywhere in urban forestry and those studies that do exist do not cover all conditions like yard plantings, natural a...

Weather station could not be verified error message

Some users receive a message when trying to select a weather station or when submitting a project for processing indicating, "The weather station could not be verified." If you receive this message it may be related to an outdated version of i-Tree Eco. Please try updating your software and submitti...

Re: What is the cost of i-tree?

As mentioned in the original post there is no cost to typical users of any the i-Tree tools inside or outside of the US. There can be costs with expanding certain tools to whole countries outside the US. Additionally, there can be a nominal fee for certain power users who require high numbers of API...

Re: Please search

I think this was a permission issue. I have adjusted and tested your forum permissions. You should now be able to see the search bar.
Due to the high number of spam posts we get from "new users" we have very limited permissions for those new user accounts.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks,
Jason

I don't have access to a Chromebook for testing but in both Firefox and Google Chrome browsers the search field appears in the upper right corner of the Forum. Image.

Re: Can information be loaded into the i-tree database from years other than the range they give me?

Hi Claudia, Unfortunately, we can currently only accept data through 2018. This is because the data must be linked with existing weather data from the National Climatic Data Center ( https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/ ). That data is generally not released for up to a year. So the 2019 data wasn't released ...

Re: is there any way to make the uploaded data private?

Hello, Unfortunately, we do not have the built-in capacity to make submitted precipitation and pollution available for a single user. The system was designed to facilitate the sharing of that type of data among all users to support projects through out the world. To modify the tool for this restrict...

Re: Sample plots relocating and substitution

Hello, You can import or manually add additional plots at any point in time. You can do this through the same procedure you used previously but you will need to make sure the editing mode is set to "On". Alternatively, you can add new plots directly in the "Plots" table under the "Data" tab by setti...

Re: assessment basis

i-Tree Canopy at its core is a random point generator. It does no automatic interpretation of what is pictured under the cross-hair. The interpretation of what is under the cross-hair is entirely up to the user.

Re: Adding current pollution and precipitation data

Hi Chris, The May 3rd update will only impact the online tools: MyTree, Design, Planting, and the API. It will not impact i-Tree Eco. This means that your data will not be integrated on May 3rd. We are working on a process that allows for quicker integration of location, pollution, and precipitation...

Re: Diversity Indices: By Stratum

Hi Juanmi, Unfortunately, the diversity indices can only be estimated for plot-based projects. This is because the diversity indices are density dependent. Complete inventory projects do not always have a defined area or may not measure all trees in the area of interest so there is no way to consist...

Re: What data do I provide to add a new species to the Database?

Hi Juan Miguel, We recommend that users submit new pollution, precipitation, location, and/or species data through i-Tree Databse six months before they wish to retrieve their results in i-Tree Eco. This is due to the time that it takes to integrate this new data into the software. We are currently ...
