Did the soft reset but still having the error. Even though WMDC is functioning fine and is connected to the device, Streets cannot retrieve the data.

data transfer error
I finally went with the Dell Axim x51 PDA instead of attempting the inventory with my DroidX. Using the PDA version 3.0.13, I was able to collect a portion of the sample data and transfer it into I-tree vs4.0.1. Then I cleaned off the PDA, and went back to the field to continue with new tree input. ...

Re: PDA for use with Streets
What is the standard method for importing the raw data file into Streets without using the Streets PDA Transfer opton under tools? Method to import Excel spreadsheet into Streets is laid out in the Users Manual, last I looked. Are you referring to the one-sentence description about Importing an Acc...

PDA for use with Streets
Thanks for the ideas. Well if all I need is an output file in Excel, maybe I should just set up a Quicksheet document that matches what Streets is looking for. I already have Quickoffice on my phone and it seems to function OK. What is the standard method for importing the raw data file into Streets...

PDA for use with Streets
Building a spreadsheet on my DroidX to match the Streets database by using the synthetic Excel app I downloaded from the marketplace may not be an option. I would like to take the easiest and most cost effective approach to paperless entry. Can you recommend a PocketPC or PDA brand and model to use ...

upgrading to version 4
I'm having a similar problem as cannot get the update. Everytime I shut down Streets, highlight the file, and try to execute the update, Itreesoftman first says it's downloading………. but then something locks up, I-Tree V3 update stops responding and has to be closed with task manager. I don’t know wh...

Smartphone apps for v.4?
I'm ready for my 2yr phone upgrade, but before I pull the trigger on an Iphone I thought I would read through the I-tree newsletter and see that the new version will work with either the DroidX or Apple's popular 4G device. Device cost isnt as much a factor to me as functionality, I will end up purc...

empty sites
the manual says to define empty planting sites as non-tree species, which I did. So the code I created shows on my species list, but when I enter these sites as they show up, the program wants a DBH. I kept getting error messages when trying to enter these sites so currently I am using 1", which the...

PDA menu buttons
I have been having a hassle logging in. It is probably because of my PDA screen sensitivity, but the STREETS PDA main menu buttons could be rearranged slightly and it would prevent this from happening when someone has to hold the stylus longer and harder to make the CONTINUE button register. The pro...

adding new species
I'm running into about 10% non-defined species in this inventory I'm conducting. When I click 'New' species, (under the input, define species tab), I can enter a code, common and scientific name, but then the assigned sp. value field does not allow entry. So I have to cancel out and I'm unable to ad...

The Device is a Samsung Omnia. It's operating on S:i910.10.V.bj28.2027. I'm trying to see if there is a newer version released since my phone was made, even though I have had it less than a month. There are no error messages in Streets, all is green with WMDC, and no dialogue box pops up at all. The...

export tree list
Is there a way to export the tree data (seen as a spreadsheet file under Input, Records)? I found the export command for the generic reports but didnt see a raw data file in there anywhere that I could bring into Excel.

no height field?
I could not find a field to enter height anywhere in Streets, so I created height range classes in the 'Other Two" field under the Mgt tab. the problem now is: How can I run a report that summarizes the heights of my population? To manage street trees means to remove, crown clean, and prune occasion...
