I wonder if i-tree canopy is using spectral characteristics of the area under the crossbar or it is just based on an image interpretation basis???

Is there any problem with itree canopy. I am using the wgs84 projected shapefile. But I receive an error that shape file projection is not recognized. I am sure about the projection and i have used it before without any problem

my study area is a small town and consists of many orchards. is it logical to separate the agricultural trees from other types? does this reduce the accuracy? or you recommend all types of trees and shrubs to be classified in one class?
