Thanks ! That's really helpful.
Am I getting this correct: If I don't enter data for 'Percent Crown Missing', Eco will use 13% as a default for all species? (From the 'Eco Guide to Data Limitations' pdf)

Required inputs for calculating leaf surface area
I'm wondering what are the required set of measurements (and also the optimal ones) for calculating leaf surface area. I'm wanting to use Eco to help me make calculations of the Importance Value of ash trees in series of parks, and trying to settle on a relatively quick data collection protocol. Are...

Re: input for energy benefits
Thanks Jason, I think I've figured out the problem. Your response was helpful because I hadn't been able to find any confirmation on how Eco reads in the energy effects data. What had caused the repeated error I think was the fact I had tried to re-import a corrected excel table in the same project....

diversity indices
Where is diversity output in Eco? In the manual, Strata>Diversity Indices are are listed under the Composition and Structure tab, between Importance Value and Species Range, but I can't find them anywhere after running the model. I'm using a pre-stratified dataset, using Eco v6.0.9. Are diversity in...

unknown species in Eco
I'm new to i-Tree, and working with a campus inventory of about 10,000 trees. Around 200 of these are recorded as unknown species, but are categorized by TreeType values (BDL, BDM, BDS, ...) which I think are from i-Tree Streets. It doesn't look like either the common or scientific species lists use...
