Post subject : Treo Windows OS - GPS not communicating
Good Day! I'm so excited about using this program. I've loaded it on my Palm Treo 700wx PDA, running Windows OS 5.1. Everything works, aside from the GPS information. I've read other blogs about this and have updated my version (3.0.9). Otherwise, I've tried changing the ports around & when I try SCAN PORTS, it gets stuck. Any thoughts?
UPDATE!
I FINALLY got an answer from palm (this was exhausting!!) This phone does NOT have a GIS/GPS INSIDE of it. I need to buy a seperate receiver for it. I have ordered one & will report back after I "receive" it. (haha). |

We passed this along to the development team to see if they can offer any suggestions. Thanks for your patience.

This situation was frustrating, but worth it! I called Palm, Sprint, & all my geeks to figure this out to no avail. In the end, persistence pays off!! I'm sure this problem may occur on other phones/pda's so I wanted to post my successful findings to help others.
I purchased a Globalsat BT-359 Bluetooth GPS receiver unit from Amazon for $34. Yes, I (assume) a tom-tom or Garmin would work also but they're $300+. It linked easily and works wonderfully. I'm now off to practice on my college campus' trees! Yeah! |
